If you're reading this, you either want to help or you need help yourself.
UKrefuge is a free, not-for-profit service that directly connects people in the UK who have a spare room with refugees who need a safe place to stay. There are no agencies involved, no fees, and no waiting list — just two people getting in touch and working something out between them. Whether you can offer a room for a few weeks or a few months, it all makes a difference.
We're here for refugees from Ukraine and from other parts of the world. If you're already in the UK and struggling to find somewhere to stay, or if you're on your way here and planning ahead, you can register as a Guest and search for hosts near you. If you have room to spare and the willingness to help, you can register as a Host and wait for someone to get in touch — or browse Guest listings yourself.
It's simple. Hosts and Guests both register on the site. Guests search the host listings and make contact. Hosts can browse refugees seeking help and reach out directly. Once you've found each other, you take it from there. If you're a Ukrainian refugee and your host is in England, you can also both register with the UK Government's Homes for Ukraine scheme for additional support. Our How it works page has step-by-step guidance.
UKrefuge has already helped bring hosts and refugees together across the UK. If you've used the site and found a match, we'd love to hear from you — your story could encourage someone else to take the step. And if you can't host yourself but want to help, there are other ways to support us too.
Thank you.
